Meet HAni :)

A life goal of mine was to find connection between cultural identity and everyday purpose. Throughout my life plants have always been a grounding place for me, even before the realization of the deep connection it can bring to a space.

I grew up on the Líľwat Nation, mainly in Pemberton, BC. I became a certified horticulturist in 2019 and started nurturing the connection of plants, people, place.

As a Líľwat7úl member, I always wanted to bring indigenous worldviews to the forefront of many conversations. Especially in the horticulture industry. Native plants and ecological design is nothing out of the ordinary. However, there still needs to be light on specific regional native plants and the relationships within your specific ecosystem.

After travelling to many places in the world and learning about various indigenous cultures and what plants mean within their communities, I wanted to bring home the same deeper understanding. There’s been a lot of traditional knowledge lost here and I hope to further this reconnection journey to all those living on the Líľwat Nation, or any Nation you may reside on.

Whether you would like help in understanding what’s best for your current space or to select native species to this region to start fresh and have some help re-imagining your space, I would love to be of service.
